What does it mean to be totally dependent upon the Savior?
Let me go back to the Old Testament for an undeniable example. King David, considered by historians and scholars to be one of the most powerful and successful warriors of his day, was very willing to openly declare that without God he could do nothing.
This thought runs throughout the longest chapter of the Bible.
When I saw what the psalmist was saying, I began seeing the entire passage of Psalm 119 as an insightful discourse of total dependence upon God, based on a foundation of obedience and cleanliness.

What does Scripture mean when it talks about "communion"? There are several meanings.
First, the word "communion" means presence. God the Father's desire for you is that the sweet presence of the Holy Spirit will be with you. The presence of the Holy Spirit is the presence of the Lord, and in His presence is "fullness of joy" and at His right hand, there "are pleasures forevermore" (Psalm 16:11).
Second, it means fellowship. You simply fellowship with the Holy Spirit. And you should seek that communion as you would seek water in the wilderness.

Luke 7 tells the story of the centurion who had a servant who was dear to him. That's very important. To have friends who are dear to you is one thing, but to have servants who are dear is something else.
Think about it. This centurion was a conquering hero, and yet to him, his servant was somebody. He sent some of the leading elders of the Jews to Jesus who told Him that this centurion had built them a synagogue and needed Jesus' help. They asked Jesus to come.
While Jesus was coming, the centurion sent his friends to Him saying. "Lord trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof: Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
