Breakthrough Faith for Your Finances

Supernatural Money PicBy Benny Hinn

I want to remind you again about another person who stepped into God’s supernatural economy.

A widow in great distress whose late husband had been in ministry with Elijah and Elisha approached Elisha.

She was caught in a terrible situation of debt and lack:

Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

Priority List for Debt Freedom

Achieving your goal of becoming debt free is contingent upon whether you're willing to alter, change, and adopt different spending habits.

To continue your present course of uncontrolled spending will only push you closer to financial catastrophe. Your success in gaining control of your finances relies heavily on your resolve to get a handle on this.

Your first step will be to determine what is essential and must be paid? Creating a priority list will help you identify that.

Second, eliminate all impulse purchases. Learning to live with less is essential to reducing your overall debt. Until now, you've been living "high" on borrowed money---money you pretended you had. But now you must adopt a habit which at first may seem extreme---living below your means.

Teaching Your Kids God's Money Principles

Finances & Kids PhotoWe need to do more than teach children that the Bible is our guide and that God's principles are the ones to follow. We need to add the "why" and the "who."

God instructs us to teach children this way: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:1-4).

God tells children to honor and obey their parents, but He doesn't stop there. He tells them what the results will be: "That it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth."
