Thousands Witness God’s Outpouring in Fire Conference and Miracle Service in San Juan

San Juan feb 2009In the Puerto Rico capital city of San Juan, the Tabernaculo de Alabanza y Restauracion led by Pastors Wanda and Rolón Pablo Ortega has become a powerful, growing church. This exciting fellowship hosted Pastor Benny Hinn’s historic Fire Conference and Miracle Service on February 20–22, 2009.

Spiritual Hunger Reflected at Puerto Rico Conference

San Juan, short for San Juan Bautista (Saint John the Baptist), is the capital and largest municipality in beautiful Puerto Rico. In this West Indies major port and tourist resort, the Tabernaculo de Alabanza y Restauracion serves as a lighthouse. From the pulpit of this packed church, Pastor Benny brought timely teaching to a hungry audience. And from the beginning, God’s life-changing and miracle-working power touched the hearts of people throughout the massive auditorium.

Anointed Fire Conference Sessions Begin

Each of the Fire sessions started with majestic music by the church worship team. The praise dance team, including dancers of all ages, participated in every session, adding much to the worship experience.

Because of the heavy Spanish influence, Pastor Benny preached messages with the gifted assistance of Omar Cabrera, Jr., Pastor Benny’s interpreter for all Central and South American events.

San Juan Miralces“Hunger is the sign of spirituality,” Pastor Benny began, speaking to the obvious desire among conference attendees to receive insight from God’s Word. “Since you are hungry, you are the right people to talk to! God is looking for hungry people and He is drawn to them. If you are hungry, you don’t have to beg; you just have to find the right door. It’s not praying or fasting to receive the power. The channel, the door to the power of God is not even praise. It’s not worship, praying, or fasting. It’s not even spirituality, because all those things exist in other religions. You receive the power of God when you get to know the Holy Spirit. And when you get to know the Holy Spirit, He will birth within you such a hunger!”

Citing his own experience as a young vessel in Canada, Pastor Benny spoke of surrendering to the leading of the Holy Spirit, through which prayer in the Spirit is born.

“The Father seeks those who seek Him in spirit and in truth,” he taught. “Power is not noise. The Holy Spirit is a Person, and if you don’t understand that, you will end up in fanaticism. He is not an atmosphere or a power. He is a Person with intellect, will, and emotions. And we can understand the mind of Christ because 1 Corinthians 2:16 tells us that the Holy Spirit reveals the mind of the Lord to man. In fact, there isn’t one Scripture that tells us to ask for His power. We are to seek Him in spirit and in truth.”

The Difference Between God’s Presence and Power

In the Saturday morning session, Pastor Benny quoted the Scriptures: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

“The presence of God and the power of God are totally different,” he taught. “We as Christians need to experience both. The presence of God comes at salvation. The power comes so we can serve the Lord here on earth. When we talk about the presence of God, we are talking about God’s glory and His ways. His presence will stay with you forever, and He will never leave you.”

In a dramatic comparison, Pastor Benny shared a remarkable difference: “The presence of the Lord stills your soul, changes you, cancels you, stills you, is always in you, and cannot be imparted to others. The more real the presence of Jesus Christ becomes, the quieter you become. However, the power of God is hidden inside His presence. While His presence brings gentleness, His power brings boldness. It makes you shout! The presence stills you, but the power stirs you. The presence of God is always in you in fullness, but the power is not eternal. Power is for war. It comes on you for a reason and a season.”

Knowing God

In the Saturday evening session, Pastor Benny continued teaching on the Trinity, focusing on the Person of the Holy Spirit.

He quoted this passage from 1 Corinthians:

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. (1 Corinthians 2:10-12)San Juan - Feb 2009

“The Holy Spirit reveals God to man,” he said. “The Holy Spirit reveals God to the redeemed. Salvation was God’s idea, bought by the blood of Jesus and revealed to us through the Holy Spirit. Prophecy is revealed by the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit is your companion, you will never hear the devil’s voice. You will hear the Shepherd’s voice. And Father God is the Source. God the Son always does what the Father says. Jesus is the doer. He does what the Father says. The Holy Spirit is the power.”

Pastor Benny used the example of light that is produced from a source, then explained how we feel the power from that source. He then said, “The Holy Spirit is the wind of God. The Holy Spirit is the revealer of Christianity, which is a revelation, not a religion. People want power, but you have no power without the Holy Spirit. You cannot surrender to an atmosphere. You can only surrender to a person through worship, adoration, and surrender.”

At the end of the final conference session, Pastor Benny prayed over those who attended, asking for a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit’s presence and anointing on those in the huge church auditorium.

The Greatest Miracle

During the Sunday afternoon Miracle Service, the church was packed with well over 5,000 people. Pastor Benny brought a moving salvation message, carefully explaining the plan of salvation with verse after verse from Scripture, then he invited all who wanted to receive the greatest miracle of all to lift their hands then come forward. Aisles were packed with hundreds of souls of all ages who streamed toward the front. Every available space in the auditorium was jammed with people who prayed to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. The response was overwhelming, and only eternity will reveal how many people gave their hearts to the Lord in that service!

Mighty Miracle Service

Pastor Benny taught how Jesus came to heal all, reminding people of one miracle after another from the Gospels and declaring the promises of God that are still in effect today.

“People sometimes blame God when their loved ones get sick,” Pastor Benny taught. “Through the years God showed me that His promises do not change. I think some people are not healed because they blame God. Stop blaming God and He will heal you! Your sickness is not God’s fault. Jesus is a healing Lord. It is His nature to heal His people. He desires to heal you.”

As the teaching ended and a special anointing swept throughout the auditorium, miracles began taking place among people of all ages. Miracles included healings from arthritis, from cancerous tumors, debilitating conditions, deafness, the inability to walk, and more. Highlights include these amazing miracles:Miracles

  • A young girl who had suffered with scoliosis came to the platform with her mother. The girl, visibly moved by what God had done in her life, was almost unable to speak as Pastor Benny talked with her. She bent over and moved from side to side, without pain, as the audience thundered with praise to the Lord Jesus!

  • A gentleman who had suffered with lung cancer came forward with his wife to testify of God’s healing touch. As he prayed for the man over and over, Pastor Benny said, “Like Naaman the leper who dipped in the Jordan River seven times, God is telling me to pray for him seven times.” The man stood as the prayers ended and Pastor Benny asked if he had any pain. He took one deep breath after another and began weeping, “No, I have no pain. No pain! No pain!” His wife wept tears of joy as she listened to her husband testify of God’s healing touch and watched him take deep breaths that he’d not been able to do for some time.

  • A mother and her daughter came forward to share how God had touched the daughter’s eyes. Born with a deformity to the cornea that severely hindered her eyesight, the girl could see nothing unless it was directly in front of her face. The mother told Pastor Benny that during the service the daughter leaned to her and said, “I feel someone touching my eye and forming it. I can see!” As Pastor Benny inquired what the daughter had felt, she reiterated that she had felt someone touching her eye during the service, and after feeling the sensation on her eye, she could see! Pastor Benny moved several feet away and continued to move farther and farther away, testing her vision, holding up fingers as the daughter covered her good eye and shouted out the correct number of fingers. Pastor Benny asked her to respond in either Spanish or English. She alternated between the two languages, always shouting out the correct number of fingers. She wiped away tears of joy throughout the exercise, continuing to respond to Pastor Benny. The mother said, “There is no way previously for my daughter to see those fingers at such a distance before God touched her today!”

  • A man who had suffered with a protruding hernia for a year was healed. The hernia simply disappeared! He was visibly excited as he shared that he no longer had any pain from it.

  • A lady with a severe thyroid problem for over three years came forward to share how she had felt movement in her throat. Previously, she had extreme difficulty swallowing, but suddenly all the pain left. She was able to swallow with no problems. Her husband, standing beside her on the platform, was deeply moved at what the Lord had done for his wife.

  • A man came to the service in a wheelchair because of difficulty walking due to a back surgery. A metal rod had been placed in his back during the surgery and the rod prevented him from moving or bending without pain. After he experienced God's healing touch during the Sunday afternoon service, he was able to bend and move easily with no pain.

  • Many people came forward to testify of healings of various forms of arthritis.

  • Cancerous tumors disappeared.

Many more miracles occurred during the service, but time did not allow for all of them to come to the platform to testify.
