Seattle’s Training for Ministry Conference Called “Incredible!”

Pastor Benny Hinn was welcomed to the exclusive Westin Seattle by an overflow crowd. Partners and friends of the ministry assembled for the two-day Training for Ministry Conference in Washington from the north, south, east, and west to sit under the teaching of Pastor Benny Hinn in order to become equipped for ministry.

Friday Evening
During the first session at the panoramic hotel and conference center, Pastor Benny presented a thorough study entitled How to Study the Bible.

He then pointed to these 10 keys:

When you begin, choose a short book, such as 1 Thessalonians or 1 John.

  1. Read and reread that book until it becomes clear to you.
  2. Grasp the book as a whole before you begin to study the details.
  3. Prepare your own introduction to it: Who wrote this book? Who was it written to? Why was the book written? What is the central truth or message in the book?
  4. Decide the message of that book as you read it.
  5. Go back and read the book slowly, chapter by chapter, and begin to divide the chapters.
  6. Go back and read verse by verse. Look up every word in each verse in the original, perhaps with the use of a concordance such as Strong’s Concordance.
  7. Go back again and analyze the verse and its full meaning.
  8. Be sure to finish reading and studying a chapter in one sitting.
  9. When you study the Bible, look for Jesus in every chapter and in every verse.

Pastor Benny also took time to share his personal Bible-marking color system, which he uses in his personal Bible study (as provided in the Benny Hinn MinistriesMaster’s Healing Presence Bible):

  • Red—promises
  • Green—prophecy
  • Purple—prayer
  • Yellow—things to remember
  • Blue—teaching
  • Orange—commands, God’s law
  • Brown—important scriptures

"The Word of God is not the product of time but eternity,” he proclaimed. “Both the Old and New Testaments are equal in authority. The New Testament in the Old Testament is concealed; the Old Testament in the New Testament is revealed. The Bible reveals the Bible. And the Word of God produces faith.”

Saturday Morning
The conference continued at the Westin with views of the Northwest’s beauty—including Lake Union, Puget Sound, and the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges—as a breathtaking backdrop.

The second session of the Seattle Training for Ministry Conference focused on the teaching of laying on of hands. Pastor Benny discussed this practice in the Old Testament.

“The laying on of hands, first and foremost,” he taught, “claims the one on whom hands are laid as your own. It is an impartation from you to them. And according to Scripture, the laying on of hands brings healing to the saints.”

He then pointed out the practice in the New Testament, where the results included healing from sickness and the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

”The laying on of hands,” Pastor Been declared, “brings the power of God.”

He also taught four safeguards regarding the laying on of hands:

  1. The ministry of the laying on of hands should be exercised carefully and with prayer.
  2. The person laying hands on someone must know how to claim the continual and purifying power of the blood of Jesus by faith.
  3. Before you lay hands on someone, seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit regarding who to pray for and when.
  4. The one praying and laying hands must himself be empowered by the Holy Spirit so he will not be overcome.

Romans 1:11-12 tells us about this impartation of spiritual gifts to believers: “For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.”

”Stir up the gifts through faith,” Pastor Benny exhorted.

Saturday Evening
Session 3 was especially exciting. Before Pastor Benny began teaching, he led the audience in a time of glorious worship. As the people worshiped the Lord, miracles began to take place all over the auditorium, including these:

  • Cancerous tumors dissolved and vanished.
  • There were many healings from arthritis and the accompanying pain and difficulties.
  • A brain tumor was healed.
  • A lady who had been a Muslim came forward to testify of God’s healing touch from a shoulder injury. As Pastor Benny spoke with her, he quickly discovered how she and her son had come to salvation. Her son shared how Jesus Christ had appeared to him in a dream, and the reality of that experience had drawn him to Jesus and the surrender of his heart and life!

The Saturday evening teaching focused on the gifts of the Spirit. Pastor Benny presented an overview of all nine gifts in three categories:

  • Revelation Gifts — word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirits
  • Vocal Gifts — gift of tongues, interpretation of tongues, gift of prophecy
  • Power Gifts — gift of faith, gift of healings, working of miracles

Pastor Benny explained, “According to 2 Peter 3:15, the apostle Paul had all nine gifts in operation in his life. Therefore, it is possible for every believer to have all nine gifts in operation in his life today!”

As the conference ended and attendees began leaving, the comments filled the arena:

“I’ve never heard teaching like this before.”

“I have never heard a teaching on the laying on of hands. This was incredible!”

“I came to this conference to get filled up spiritually, and I received more than I expected!”

“I’ve never attended a conference this big! It was powerful, and I’m so glad I came!”

“I loved the worship, and it laid such a wonderful foundation for the teaching in each service.”

“We need this kind of teaching, and Seattle needs Pastor Benny to come back for another miracle crusade!"”

“This was an incredible conference in the Northwest,” Pastor Benny reported. “There was such a great immediate response from those who attended. I saw such an intense spiritual hunger in the people, and God rewarded that hunger with a great anointing of power and authority. God did a great work in the hearts of the people who attended the Seattle conference, and I look forward to hearing more and more about the impact this will have on the people throughout the region. How exciting it is to see people immediately begin to apply the teaching.”
